Every Chicago Bears fan wants the team to select either an edge rusher or defensive tackle in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft, but an interesting option might have popped up out of nowhere.
There has been chatter about Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson that he might be a top 10 pick in the draft. ESPN NFL Draft expert Matt Miller shared that Tyson might fall in the opening round of the draft due to concerns about the receiver.
“Many scouts remarked that Tyson's hamstring injury and lack of predraft workouts could cause him to slide to the back half of the first round.”
Bears might have a chance to get a star at 25
Tyson had a strong last two years with the Sun Devils as he was twice named a first-team All-Big 12 selection. He got over 1,000 yards in 2024, but dropped to 711 yards last year.
The Bears are already out of DJ Moore after getting traded to the Buffalo Bills for a 2026 second-round pick, and Olamide Zaccheaus was not brought back to the team as he signed with the Atlanta Falcons in free agency. Chicago still has Rome Odunze and Luther Burden as their top two choices in the passing game, but needs to find a WR3.
New free agent signing Kalif Raymond could be one option, but he is more of a special teams returner. Jahdae Walker could be another option despite having limited experience on the field last year as an undrafted rookie.

It would seem hard to believe that the Bears would actually go wide receiver in the first round with all the needs they have on defense, but general manager Ryan Poles has stated that he wants to select the best available player. Tyson would easily fit that role if he somehow dropped all the way to 25.
