Closing in on Week 1 of the season, all eyes are on Ben Johnson and Caleb Williams as the Chicago Bears look to officially turn the tides of the NFC North. After the majority of the last decade and a half went not-so-according to plan, the Bears are ready to change the narrative.

One former Bears nemesis and Detroit Lions great, Ndamukong Suh, actually believes in the Bears' chances, too. In an interview with NFL personality Kay Adams, Suh offered a surprising prediction and some high praise for the Bears.

"I think the Bears are going to be silent killers and they're going to create a lot of havoc. I am curious to see what Caleb's able to do," he responded.

Havoc, huh? That's an interesting word choice for a guy who created exactly that, against the Bears, for years. Just ask Jay Cutler how synonymous the words "Suh" and "havoc" happen to be.

Ndamukong Suh believes in Ben Johnson and the Bears defense

Adams asked him what made him think the Bears are going to be silent killers, to which he responded:

"Some of the defensive pieces they have, when I looked at that team."

It's an interesting response but no surprise coming from a former defensive player. All the talk, this offseason, has been around the Bears' offense and what Ben Johnson can do with Caleb Williams and company. But, Suh sees the defensive pieces in place and believes that side of the ball can be just as competitive.

In the end, Suh's belief in Ben Johnson is the biggest reason of all behind his faith in Chicago.

"... but ultimately I think that coach and that team in general is going to rally and find a way to be competitive no matter what," Suh said.

In a way, this is fairly shocking considering how long Suh tormented the Bears over his years with the Lions. To hear him give such high praise for the Bears sounds just plain odd, but this fan base will take it.

On the other hand, it does make sense because he's praising Johnson, the former Lions offensive coordinator and guru. Suh's loyalty is staying pretty true to Detroit while also giving hope to Chicago.
