While he might not have been with the Chicago Bears very long in his career, a former member of the team made a big life decision.
Former Bears wide receiver Collin Johnson announced his retirement from the NFL after playing from 2020 through 2025. Johnson was a member of the Bears in 2023 and 2024, catching two passes for 17 yards over 12 games, but was better known for his special teams work, posting five tackles in 2024.
There was more news from Johnson as well: he announced he would attend MIT Sloan this fall. He will be working towards getting his MBA.
Former Bears WR Collin Johnson is going back to college
Johnson originally attended the University of Texas before becoming a fifth-round pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2020 NFL Draft. He played for the Jaguars, New York Giants, Bears, and Las Vegas Raiders in his career, posting 31 receptions for 394 yards and two touchdowns.
It's good to see a player go from retirement from the NFL to making something out of his post-playing days. Johnson is smart for using his NFL salary from over the years to pave his way through college and get a master's.
This shows strong character, and someone Bears general manager Ryan Poles can say he was proud to have on the team. It's not known what Johnson will do with his master's once he is done in college, but he is obviously on the right path to making something with it.

He might not be the most memorable player to ever play for the Bears, since he was more on special teams than on offense, but fans can be proud of what he is doing and will be cheering him on as he moves into the next chapter of his life.
