Expert’s ridiculous QB take will have Bears fans absolutely fuming

Time to get extremely angry about one (1) single opinion on the internet.

Frents, it's time to get ANGRY.

One (1) new list dropped on the internet this morning, and I'm not exaggerating when I say that it's probably the most disrespectful thing to happen to the Bears' organization since Matt Eberflus purposefully made the decision to give a backup offensive lineman a carry in a real live football game.

Maybe we shouldn't be surprised. The league obviously conspires to sway public opinion against the Bears, and their efforts reached a new low this morning thanks to an extremely arbitrary QB ranking from CBS Sports. And before you click on this link, keep this in mind: they don't even have Patrick Mahomes ranked in the top five. So just keep that in mind as you chew on the legitimacy of this list.

Caleb William's spot on CBS Sports' new QB rankings feels purposeful

CBS Sports ranking: #16

"Perhaps no young gunslinger is better equipped for a seismic leap. Equally frenetic and feisty as a poorly protected rookie, the former No. 1 overall pick now has a fortified front and staff on his side."

???? How dare they. The absolute audacity to look at Williams' just-okay rookie year and slap him with a just-okay ranking. The internet's become a gross shell of what it once was/could have been, but this is a new low. Behind Bo Nix?! Baker Mayfield at 11?! I know that these are all based in "stats" and "performance" and "success" but did they even consider vibes? Did they put any thought into the fact that Williams might be really good one day? That rage you feel is totally justified – in fact, if anything, you're still underreacting.

Honestly, this is a good thing. It's the Bears vs. CBS Sports, and really it's the Bears vs. The World. No one believes in Williams, which is exactly where they want to be heading into his first season playing for Ben Johnson. You know Johnson saw this list too – he's probably cooking up a play in the lab right now in response. This is exactly what Bears fans needed to get ready for the season; I'm fine letting Jared Goff and Jordan Love deal with the heavy burden of being in the top 10 of a mid-May QB Rankings from CBS Sports.

We'll see who's laughing this December when they have to move Williams up four spots. Or at least above Bo Nix.
