In Week 8, we saw plenty of chaos unfold around the league. Some games were closer than they should've been, while others saw the clear-cut underdogs pull off a victory.

And, through it all, there were several ties to the Chicago Bears.

Which former Bears stood out this week? We've got an all-positive list for you this week, starting with somebody who hadn't seen the field for a little while.

D.J. Moore has a big game after returning from shoulder injury

It had been a few weeks since the Buffalo Bills had seen D.J. Moore out on the field due to a lingering shoulder injury, but he returned in a big way in their matchup with the Baltimore Ravens. Moore led the team with seven targets from quarterback Josh Allen, catching four of them for 82 yards and a touchdown.

His most impressive moment came on an absolutely riduclous catch down field on a 49-yard bomb from Allen. Even though he's not in navy and orange, it's hard not to be happy for him in that moment. What a play it was.

Jacob Martin helps fill in the gap Jeffery Simmons left in Tennessee

This one is ironic. After the Titans traded Jeffery Simmons to the Bears, they clearly needed others to step up if they were going to remain competitive. And that's exactly what Jacob Martin did.

Martin only played for the Bears for a single season back in 2024, where he finished with 3.0 sacks on the year.

Funny enough, that's exactly how many sacks Martin put up on Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals -- three, by himself.

It was not only impressive, but it was exactly what his team needed, albeit in a loss, to feel like they can still compete after losing such an integral piece to that defense.

Kevin Byard earns a game ball in Patriots' victory

We saw shades of 2025 Kevin Byard in the New England Patriots' victory over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. In a game much closer than it should have been, the Patriots came away with a narrow victory, and Byard was a big part of that.

Byard ended the day with seven tackles (four solo), a pass breakup and a key interception that came in the fourth quarter. Following Byard's pick off Malik Willis, the Patriots would go on to score a touchdown on their next drive.

After the game, head coach Mike Vrabel gave Byard a game ball.

Khalil Mack addresses trade rumors after Chargers drop to 0-7

By now, most Bears fans are familiar with the buzz surrounding Los Angeles Chargers pass rusher Khalil Mack. This fan base wants him back before the trade deadline passes, and there are a lot of rumors swirling that a reunion is in the cards.

After the Chargers lost their seventh in a row, Mack was asked about the trade rumors, to which he responded:

“You’ve got to be where your feet are man, ultimately. That can be the most difficult thing when you’re dealing with a lot of outside noise and stuff. Just trying to be where your feet are at all time. That’s kind of been my thing in years past.”

It's the type of response you'd expect from the 35-year-old veteran, but deep down, you have to believe he wants to come back to Chicago.

Let's make it happen, Ryan Poles.

Declan Doyle loses his quarterback to injured reserve

Our last former Bears is not a player, but a very relevant coach in Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Declan Doyle, who held the same role in Chicago last year.

Doyle saw an absolute nightmare take place with Lamar Jackson leaving after just one play. Jackson will not be placed on injured reserve, needing surgery on his thumb.

But then, Tyler Huntley suffered what's being called a turf toe injury.

Now, the Ravens are left with just one quarterback: Joe Fagnano.

Of course, that leads Bears fans to wondering whether Doyle and the Ravens will call Ryan Poles about reuniting with Tyson Bagent via trade.
