Former Bears player takes brutal jab at George McCaskey amidst another lost season

Before anyone is quick to point out the fact that the Chicago Bears are not mathematically eliminated from playoff contention and tries to pick a fight based on the assumption that this is yet another "lost season," just go ahead and save it.

This is a lost season. If you haven't come to that conclusion yet, then you are an eternal optimist. Congratulations.

The majority of the fan base is already looking ahead to next year, as are some of the former players still close to the organization.

This coaching regime is in way over its head. Matt Eberflus has no idea what he is doing as an NFL head coach, and it's never been more true than it is today. The idea that the Eberflus contract could prevent the Bears from moving on after this season is some out-of-this-world type of idiocy. Chicago should (and will) move on from Eberflus and this coaching staff when the season comes to a close.

But, how do the Bears stop this vicious cycle from repeating itself all over again? One former player and CHGO media member, Corey Wootton, has a pretty straightforward idea on how to make that happen.

The Bears need to take a page out of the Packers' book if they want to right the ship

In a recent segment on the air, Wootton alluded to the Green Bay Packers as an organizational example of how to do things the right way.

"Green Bay, as much as this pains me, from the top down, they run it better ... from the owner, to the GM, to the president, to the coaching staff, to how they draft and develop talent, they do it better across the board," Wootton said.

So this brings us to the question: why? Why do the Packers do it better? What do they do differently? Well, the painfully obvious is the fact that Green Bay doesn't have an owner sticking his nose where it doesn't belong.

"If the Bears want to change the tune of their team, they have to do it from the top down ... the McCaskeys have to give the reigns to Kevin Warren and Ryan Poles to trim the fat," he finished.

We've heard, for years now, that Bears owner George McCaskey could be less involved and take a step back. But, has it truly happened? Or, is McCaskey continuing to stick his fingers in every which way he possibly can?

Wootton being a former player and plugged into the organization, still, seems to have an answer to that question. And, it's not hard to believe.

McCaskey is clueless and he's cheap. It is time for him to take a step back and allow Ryan Poles, along with Kevin Warren, to take control -- full control.
