Everybody has an opinion on the Chicago Bears amid their 8-game losing streak.
The sky has long been falling, but fans knew that already. What some fans might argue about, though, is who exactly is to blame. This franchise has been stuck in the same puddle of mediocrity for years, now.
Whether it's Caleb Williams, Justin Fields, or any other quarterback under center over the past four or five years, one thing hasn't changed. The Bears are still a mediocre franchise at best. The same can be said about coaching staffs.
It doesn't matter if it's Thomas Brown, Matt Eberflus or Matt Nagy. It doesn't matter whether it's Luke Getsy, Shane Waldron or Brown.
The Bears are still underachievers, and fans are sick of it. Fans see it. It's blatant. It's apparent for everyone to see, not just Bears fans. But, one former Bears quarterback and current NFL analyst decided to point it out, publicly, anyway.
Current FOX Sports analyst, Chase Daniel, went on a lengthy rant on the air after Chicago dropped its eighth game in a row, and above all other points, simply pointed out the obvious fact that nothing has changed.
"Look at how the last four years have gone for the Chicago Bears offense," Daniel pointed out.
"Just look at that (graphic on the screen). Is there any difference? It's all the same! The Bears have had three head coaches in four years, seven different starting quarterbacks ... what's changed up there? In fact, some stuff's gotten worse (compared to last year)," he went on.
The Bears continue to prove they can ruin just about anyone who comes to Chicago
I have to admit, before the 2024 NFL Draft, seeing folks out there with hot takes like "the Bears will ruin Caleb Williams, too" kind of irked me.
Now, while I am not worried about Williams in the least bit, the alarming part of this season is the fact that nothing has changed within Halas Hall. Daniel is right. Even with Williams, and all of the offensive weapons, things continue to stay the same.
More Bears news:
"The one thing that Caleb Williams, when he was drafted, gave the Bears fans, was hope ... it's the same exact thing for Bears fans," Daniel ended.
One of the biggest reasons it continues to be the "same exact thing" is due to the fact that the Bears are run by a general manager who, as a former offensive lineman himself, continues to fail in that very department.
Ryan Poles still has yet to put together a competent offensive line. It's almost hilarious, at this point. How does one, as a former offensive lineman, not put that group at the forefront of his thinking from an organizational standpoint?
The Bears could have prime Michael Vick behind this current offensive line, and it wouldn't matter. The offense would still struggle. Poles has failed to do the one thing many fans had hoped he would actually be able to do, and that's put together a strong front to protect the quarterback.
Will Poles continue to get his chance at righting these wrongs? The relationship between he and Kevin Warren is also a hot topic as of late, so we'll see how things shake out over the coming weeks.
