The departure of 2025 draft pick Zah Frazier has the Chicago Bears continuing their search for his replacement.
Chicago already brought in former Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Nazeeh Johnson for a visit. Now, NFL reporter Aaron Wilson is reporting that the Bears have brought in Sam Webb for a workout. Webb had recently worked out for the New York Giants.
He went undrafted in 2022 out of Missouri Western, and he started his career with the Las Vegas Raiders and also played for the Carolina Panthers, Tennessee Titans, and Cleveland Browns. In 36 career games, Webb racked up 45 tackles, four pass deflections, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and one fumble returned for a touchdown.
Bears bring in another cornerback for a workout
Chicago is looking to ensure it has depth at cornerback before minicamp starts and appears to be seeking veterans with at least three seasons of experience. Webb and Johnson are more known for their work on special teams, which is an interesting through to it.
At the moment, the Bears will roll with Jaylon Johnson and Tyrique Stevenson on the outsides and Kyler Gordon in the slot. Bears' rookie fourth-round pick Malik Muhammad is expected to compete with Stevenson for the CB2 job. Terell Smith could also be in the conversation as well.
It appears there will be more workouts for the Bears at cornerback as they try to figure out a plan of attack, since they were hoping Frazier would be in the conversation. No appearances in any game last season, and he's already gone after one year in the NFL, which was a massive disappointment for the franchise.

Bears fans hope that whoever the backup plan is for Frazier, it works well, whether that's Johnson, Webb, or someone else.
