With their second-round pick, the Chicago Bears selected Luther Burden out of Missouri to bolster their wide receiver room. This not only gives Caleb Williams another weapon to throw to as he enters a critical second season but it gives first-year head coach Ben Johnson another player to scheme around.

Bears fans will be thrilled enough about the addition of Burden but to make matters funnier, former Green Bay Packers quarterback Kurt Benkert seems to be downright terrified of Burden joining the NFC North.

"I was watching Burden the other day and realized he’s a blend between Amon Ra & Deebo Samuel and it just makes sense he’s a Bear now with Ben Johnson calling plays.
One of my biggest sleepers this draft ends up in the NFC North"

Luther Burden joining NFC North is terrifying thought for Packers fans

Benkert comparing Burden to Amon-Ra St. Brown and Deebo Samuel should give Bears fans a fun taste of what's to come in the Windy City for a new era of Bears football. The Mizzou wideout didn't have the same kind of breakout season in 2024 due to quarterback issues in Columbia but in 2023 he had over 1,200 yards and seven touchdowns. Even with those aforementioned quarterback issues, Burden still found the end zone nine times in 2024.

What's funnier here is that the Bears didn't even necessarily need to add another receiver but Johnson's motto has been "Win and win by a lot". Burden helps them do that. Hopefully winning by a lot against the Packers becomes the new norm after Chicago finally broke its losing streak to the big bad Packers.

It's fun to imagine Packers fans being afraid of this pick and hopefully, Burden ends up truly being a burden for not just Green Bay but the rest of the division as well.
