FOX commentator got brutally honest about what Bears win over Lions would prove

He's not wrong.

There are definitely a lot more people in the NFL who believe this Chicago Bears team could make a run for the Super Bowl, but others wouldn't agree.

The Bears enter the final week of the regular season against the Detroit Lions with an 11-5 record and as NFC North champions. They are still playing for the number two seed as they need a win or a Philadelphia Eagles loss for that to happen.

Revenge is on the minds of the Bears after the Lions embarrassed them back in Week 2 with a 52-21 blowout loss. As for whether a win for Chicago over Detroit would prove anything for the Bears, FOX commentator Danny Parkins had a firm opinion on that while appearing on First Things First.

“Nothing. And I assumed for all three of you guys, nothing also… Why would Week 18 against a Lions team that has nothing to play for? You either believe, or you don’t believe.”

Bears don't have anything to prove as they have already done that

All the talk throughout most of the season was how the Chicago Bears could not beat the good teams and were barely scraping past weaker competition. The Bears have shown one thing that most NFL teams don't have right now: resiliency.

Chicago has won six games in which it has had to come from behind or score the game-winning points on the final drive, the most in the NFL. They have beaten teams with winning records this year as well, including the Pittsburgh Steelers, Philadelphia Eagles, and Green Bay Packers. All three are either in the playoff hunt or are already in the postseason.

This Bears team might have their flaws, from a defense that allows big plays or a starting quarterback, Caleb Williams, with accuracy issues, but plenty are going for them too. Chicago has a top five offense and their defense leads the NFL in turnovers created with 32.

Nothing about this Bears team is going to be easy, and one win against the Lions won't prove anything. They have already proven themselves as Super Bowl contenders and don't need to add anymore value to themselves.
