It has been reported that the Chicago Bears are mere weeks away from deciding whether to build their new multi-billion-dollar dome stadium in either Arlington Heights or Hammond, across the border in Indiana.
The drama has been brewing over the last few months as the Bears try to cut themselves the best possible deal, with the fan base caught in the middle, like a bad divorce. While appearing on FS1's First Things First, FOX Sports commentator Danny Parkins shared his blunt thoughts on the new Bears stadium drama.
“Who cares? The Chicago Bears will be the Chicago Bears.”
Honestly, Bears fans are starting to feel the same as Danny Parkins
At this point, yeah, who cares? Bears fans would love the team to stay in Chicago altogether, but the franchise has made it clear that it's not going to happen and has every intention of leaving the city.
The debate over whether to stay in Illinois or go to Indiana is almost silly, since Hammond, Indiana, is actually closer to Chicago than Arlington Heights. Yes, the big thing would be that Illinois would lose all that revenue from the Bears being in their state, but it's been clear from the beginning that the fans are secondary in the thought process.
No matter what happens with the move, Bears fans are going to be Bears fans. No one is going to change their favorite team from the Bears to someone else, and even if they do, were they even a true fan in the first place?

Ideally, Illinois would be the better choice for the Bears to have at least somewhat positive public perception, but at this point, the team's wins won't change people's minds about the team. If the New York Jets, New York Giants, San Francisco 49ers, Washington Commanders, Los Angeles Rams, and Los Angeles Chargers can all play outside their cities and some even their states, the Bears can do the same thing and be just fine.
