Fox's NFL pregame show absolutely torched Matt Eberflus for Bears' awful loss
Just in case Keenan Allen, Cole Kmet, Kyler Gordon, and DJ Moore couldn't convince you that Matt Eberflus doesn't really know what he's doing, we can now add "Fox's NFL pregame show" to the list. And I know you were wondering what Fox's NFL pregame show crew thought about the Chicago Bears, so I'm glad to be able to give you an answer.

After Eberflus' latest baffling decision – this time, to leave a timeout on the table with a running clock during their 3-point loss to the Lions – Fox had the entire pre- and post-game show crew stand in front of a big fancy set and talk about how stupid the decision was. Maybe it was a little overkill, but tbh, that kind of a decision definitely deserved it. Everyone was very confused, but Jimmy Johnson bottled that confusion into a TV rant, because he's a consummate pro.
Jimmy Johnson goes scorched earth on Matt Eberflus during Fox NFL pregame show
"In 70 years of coaching at all three levels, I've never seen dysfunction that cost the team an opportunity to win the game," Johnson said. "Obviously he's got a rookie quarterback. And different teams do things different ways. I handled the clock managmenet and time outs. Sometimes the quarterback and the coach does it. Sometimes the coach has a coach in the box talking to him about clock management. But when Eberflus saw that they were off track and there was dysfunction, he should have called a timeout."
Johnson's definitely being a prisoner of the moment, but it's hard to blame him. Bears fans saw that level of dysfunction literally a week ago. And then a week before that! Johnson merely adopted the dark – Bears fans were born in it, molded by it. They saw Eberflus' flub coming from a mile away, and it still somehow exceeded everyone's expectations. He's impressive in that sense.
Maybe this will be the straw that breaks the camel's back for George McCaskey? It'd be very on-brand for Jimmy Johnson to finally be the voice that made the Chicago Bears take action. What does Bill Polian have to say about all of this?? Everyone knows that once you lose Fox's pregame show, you're on borrowed time.
