Chicago Bears tight end Colston Loveland was seen as a bust through the first month of the 2025 season, but he turned out to be one of the top young players in the league by the end.
Loveland finished the season as the Bears' leading receiver with 58 receptions for 713 yards and six touchdowns. He earned the respect of everyone in the league, as he was considered one of the best rookies of 2025.
FOX Sports, though, did not feel the same way, as Loveland did not make the top 10 players from the 2025 draft. Loveland was only named as an honorable mention, as he saw fellow first-round tight end Tyler Warren ranked fourth on the same list.
Colston Loveland was left out of the top 10 players from 2025 draft
Loveland deserves more respect than what FOX Sports is giving him, as they are punishing him for something he couldn't control early in the season. It's known that at the beginning of the year, the Bears' offense struggled to get the tight ends involved as Loveland and Cole Kmet got off to slow starts.
What made Loveland's rookie season so good as well was his ability to help in the running game with his blocking. That might not be a sexy stat like catches, yards, and touchdowns, but the Bears had a top-five rushing attack in 2025 with Loveland being a part of that.

This is judged on only one year, but give Loveland time over the next few years, and the story is going to change. By the end of it, Loveland will be among the top 10 best players from the class with a long career that hopefully stays in Chicago for a while.
