The Green Bay Packers are finalizing their coaching staff with a promotion that Chicago Bears fans might reconize and find a bit hilarious in the process.
NFL insider Tom Pelissero reported that the Packers have promoted former Bears offensive coordinator Luke Getsy to quarterbacks coach. Getsy will be replacing Sean Mannion, who took the offensive coordinator job with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Since leaving Chicago after the 2023 season, Getsy was offensive coordinator for the Las Vegas Raiders for part of one season before being fired. He spent last year as a senior offensive assistant for the Packers.
Luke Getsy gets promoted in Green Bay
Who in Chicago can forget Getsy and the horrendous job he did coaching the offense in 2022 and 2023? He was responsible for developing Justin Fields as a quarterback, and while Fields technically received MVP votes in 2022, the Bears' offense was not good in either year under Getsy.
Chicago finished 28th in yards and 23rd in points during the 2022 campaign. While 2023 was an improvement, it was by very little as the Bears were 20th in yards and 18th in points.
Not Getsy will be responsible for continuing the development of Jordan Love as the Packers' quarterback, which Bears fans won't complain about. If Getsy struggles with developing Love as much as he did with Fields, Chicago should be in a comfortable spot in 2026 with the NFC North.
The Bears beat the Packers in two of three meetings in 2025. More importantly, though, Chicago has owned the series of late, as the Bears have won three of the last four meetings between the two teams.

What makes this move by the Packers so great is that this time, the Bears will have front row seats to seeing this experiment in Green Bay blow up right in front of their faces.
