The anticipation is killing Chicago Bears fans as they wait for the Pittsburgh Steelers to share what is happening with quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport did share that the Steelers are upgrading defensive tackle Cam Hayward and cornerback Darius Slay, who were both listed as questionable going into the game. Hayward and Slay are expected to be on the field.

Rapoport added that the Steelers did not change Rodgers' status, as he remains questionable due to the wrist injury. Rodgers was knocked out of the Week 11 win over the Cincinnati Bengals with a wrist injury and has had minimal practice time this week.

It's back to the waiting game for the Bears

Chicago wants the revenge game. Rodgers wants to play one last game against the Bears in Chicago. Hopefully, destiny will step in and get him on the field.

Rodgers has tormented the Bears over the last decade, going 24-5 in the regular season against Chicago. He also beat the Jay Cutler-led Bears in the NFC Championship game over a decade ago, ruining the team's chance at a Super Bowl.

The Heyward and Slay news is still big for the Steelers, as it means their veteran defenders will be ready for the game. That will put pressure on the Bears' interior line and the receivers to step up in a big way against two veterans who have had solid NFL careers.

Chicago is dealing with injuries of its own, as it is down its top three linebackers. Cornerbacks Jaylon Johnson and Kyler Gordon have also been reportedly confirmed not to be playing in the Steelers game after being listed as questionable for the match.

The Bears need everyone they can to stop the 6-4 Steelers, but nothing would mean more to the fan base in Chicago than to face Rodgers just one more time.
