Among the centers in the 2026 NFL Draft, Iowa's Logan Jones made the most noise and got everyone excited for what he can bring to the table in the league and now to the Chicago Bears.

His 4.9-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine helped solidify him as one of the top centers in the draft, which helped with the Bears deciding to take him with the 57th overall pick in the draft. Dear Old Gold's Jordan Underwood gave Bears fans a peek behind the curtain at what they are getting from Jones.

"The 2025 Rimington Award winner should be one of the first centers taken off the board in the upcoming draft. He was an ironman for the Hawkeyes in the center of the offensive line, racking up over 50 career starts, and was an All-American last season."

Chicago made this selection as they try to figure out the future at the center position for the Bears. After the surprising retirement announcement of Drew Dalman, the Bears traded for Garrett Bradbury from the New England Patriots to fill the gap for the 2026 season.

Bradbury is under contract for one more season, so the Bears needed to get someone who could fill in for the long term. Jones seems to fit that role well with his athletic ability to move around on pulls to the outside on runs and stand strong in pass blocking.

There's a chance that, since Jones was selected so high, the Bears might go with the rookie instead of the veteran Bradbury, but it's clear that a competition will happen in training camp between Jones and Bradbury.

A new storyline is brewing in Chicago, but after the expert shared Jones' college success, it may be hard to ignore the idea of him starting from Day 1.
