Well, it didn't take long for the Chicago Bears to start feeling the ripple effects of being a winning team, as they are still trying to get over their 20-17 overtime loss to the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Divisional Round.
There has been much speculation about the future of Bears running backs coach Eric Bieniemy, who has been linked to the Kansas City Chiefs' offensive coordinator job. NFL insider Tom Pelissero reported that all signs point to exactly that, as Bieniemy is expected to be the offensive coordinator, replacing former Bears head coach Matt Nagy, who is interviewing for head coaching jobs.
Bieniemy has been on the Bears' staff for just one year under Ben Johnson and has already done wonders for the running back room. D'Andre Swift had the best season of his career, while seventh-round pick rookie Kyle Monangai exploded onto the scene for 783 yards and five touchdowns.
Eric Bieniemy's exit is only the beginning for the Bears
This was inevitable, given Bieniemy's years of experience as an offensive coordinator in the NFL and college football. The Chiefs had an opening to bring back their former offensive coordinator, so it made all the sense in the world.
Don't expect this to be the only departure from the Bears' coaching staff, as more should leave the team for other jobs. There is speculation that the Bears might lose offensive coordinator Declan Doyle if he is offered a play-calling offensive coordinator role. Doyle is a young, smart coach who did great work with Caleb Williams in his first season there.
Bears defensive backs coach Al Harris will be a hot name for defensive coordinator jobs, as he should be getting interview calls soon. Harris was impressive with how he made Kevin Byard an All-Pro and had backup Nahshon Wright create the most turnovers in the NFL.

It's a massive credit to Johnson for building a great coaching staff in Year 1 that will get the team's attention to try to replicate. Bears fans should expect more departures soon enough.
