The Chicago Bears host the Minnesota Vikings this Sunday, and Minnesota's offense features three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Justin Jefferson. The Bears will counter with Pro Bowl corner Jaylon Johnson, but will that be enough to slow Jefferson?

On her latest Making Monsters podcast on our 2nd City Gridiron channel, Taylor Doll chopped it up with Tyler Forness, who covers the Minnesota Vikings for Vikings 1st and Skol and SKOR North, and he covers the NFL Draft for A to Z Sports, and he thinks Jefferson has the edge.

“I don’t think [Jaylon] Johnson can man up against Justin Jefferson because I really don’t think anyone can," Forness said on the pod, "but he’s going to be someone that doesn’t require a ton of help like a lot of other cornerbacks would. That’s the way to beat Justin Jefferson: you get in his face, you punch in the mouth, knock him off his spot, and you provide help over the top.”

The man getting Jefferson the ball, quarterback Sam Darnold, has been having a fantastic season, and Forness called it an "A+ move" so far.

"I don’t necessarily know if Sam Darnold is going to be the future of this team. I think that’s less than a 5% chance because they love what they saw from JJ McCarthy, how he handled everything throughout training camp, how he’s handled everything since the injury, and how he’s continued to handle things moving forward, but with Sam Darnold, they really did believe in him and all the lip service you heard over the offseason, 'oh, it’s Sam Darnold’s job.' they weren’t kidding.”

The Vikings' defense is known for its aggressive nature from coordinator Brian Flores, and he's doing it with several new faces. "He’s a cross between Harry Houdini and the witches from Hocus Pocus," Forness said on the show. "What he’s been able to do with these guys has been phenomenal.”

Speaking of phenomenal, it's a phenomenal preview from Taylor, as usual, so check out her show in the embed below or anywhere you get your podcasts. They also get into the trenches, the running game, the receiving corps, and the schemes. Plus, since Forness covers the NFL Draft, he has plenty to say about Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze.
