Once a polarizing quarterback for the Chicago Bears, Justin Fields is now with the New York Jets and he continues to prove that, sometimes, some things never change.
During an offseason practice, Jets reporter Ralph Vacchiano concluded a couple of things about Fields that Bears fans could have told you a couple of years ago:
"QB Justin Fields has a rocket arm and is capable of some impressive, precision passes. He may often follow those by sailing throws high and wide."
And this, folks, is exactly what made Fields so polarizing in Chicago. It seems as though nothing has changed (and that's fine). For every blistering bullet he throws, Fields will also mix in some overthrows and off-target passes.
Justin Fields is still as endearing as he was with the Bears
It was always easy to root for Fields. As a human being, he was as good as any in the league. Players have a wide variety of personalities throughout the league, but Fields' calm demeanor is part of what made him likeable.
It's not just his leadership style and quiet confidence, but Fields has always drawn fans in simply because of his exciting play style. Watching him take off and make big plays with his legs, combined with the fact that he does have a rocket arm, gives fans plenty to enjoy watching.
The accuracy issues, at times, were apparent. That's part of why the Bears moved on and instead committed to drafting Caleb Williams last year.

Jets fans will soon realize that with all of the good they're going to see from Fields, there are also some negative aspects. He is by no means a finished product, and he's not a bad quarterback. But, there are some spots he can still afford to improve; the same spots Bears fans saw since Day 1.
He's endeared himself to fans, and that hasn't changed. Unfortunately, the sore spots are still visible as well.
