All Chicago Bears fans are in love with hearing those three words from their head coach, Ben Johnson: Good, Better, Best.

That chant has echoed in the heads of every Bears fan over the last year, prompting them to put it on repeat throughout the 2025 season. New Bears wide receiver and return specialist Kalif Raymond knows Johnson well from their time together with the Detroit Lions and spoke about first hearing his new head coach use that chant.

"I’ll never forget the first day he had everybody saying, 'Good. Better Best,'" Raymond said via The Score's Chris Emma. "You’re not used to doing chants and everything like that. And then we started winning. And then he started doing it here, and everybody’s winning. So, I’m like, 'Well, we better be good, better, best, then.' It’s a testament to who he is. He’s not taking his shirt off because he wants to look good. He’s taking his shirt off because he probably slept three hours that week and put all the work in to go win the game. It’s a testament to who he is, and I’m proud of him."

That chant means so much more than just the three words it starts with. Johnson has used that chant to build the kind of culture the Bears have long been missing in Chicago.

First, that winning culture was missing for a while, and Johnson was able to instill a winning mindset in the NFL pretty quickly. The Bears were one of the most resilient teams in the league, breaking an NFL record with seven comebacks and game-winning drives.

It also brought the team together in a way that certainly wasn't there back in 2024. This is a tight-knit group that works well together and continues to get better every week during the 2025 season, and those results showed on the field.
