Chicago Bears fans should know by now how good life is with quarterback Caleb Williams leading the franchise after the stellar 2025 season they just witnessed.
The Bears now enter an interesting 2026 offseason that has seen many changes on defense, but as long as Williams is their starter, they should be in good shape. Former Bears safety and now New England Patriot Kevin Byard sat down with NFL insider Jordan Schultz as he talked about how good Williams is and how much better he can get under head coach Ben Johnson in their second season together.
"I think him being able to grow into Ben Johnson's offense, it was great to see and so I can just only imagine what it's going to feel like and look like in Year 2 in Ben Johnson's system. When he moves on the run, he's more accurate than he is, it's the craziest thing in the world. I expect him to be one of the top quarterbacks, if not top two, top three quarterbacks in the league, and I think he's got some Super Bowls in his sights as well."
Bears fans' future is bright with Caleb Williams
Williams made some significant strides in 2025 from his rookie season as he threw for a franchise-record 3,942 yards and 27 touchdowns to seven interceptions. While his completion percentage was barely over 58%, the type of plays and throws that Williams was making is something not even five quarterbacks in this league can make.
"The Iceman" showed the NFL how clutch he is in big moments, as he led an NFL-record seven comeback and game-winning drives in the regular season and playoffs combined in 2025. He made incredible throws off his back foot and showed the arm strength and accuracy when his back is up against the wall.
Bears fans are just two years into the Williams era, but it's clear that the work being done under Johnson deserves to be talked about as well. Johnson has truly worked his magic with Williams, making him one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL by tapping into potential that Matt Eberflus and his staff couldn't even come close to unlocking in 2024.
