Kyler Gordon wasn't at Northwest Stadium last year when the Commanders defeated the Bears on a Hail Mary.
The veteran nickel cornerback injured his hamstring in the Week 6 victory over the Jaguars in London a game prior and didn't return to action until Week 10. However, Gordon – who has been out the first four games because of a hamstring injury – said on Tuesday that he will play on Monday night against the Commanders.

Although the Bears are returning to the same location where the infamous play happened, that hasn't been brought up much.
“Honestly, there hasn’t been a ton of talk as far as like what happened last season on,” Gordon said. “I don’t think like anyone is really focused on that except for like going out there and winning. I wasn’t even there last year, so to me it’s like go with everybody and change the narrative.”
Gordon keeps his focus on the Commanders, with one player in mind
One of the narratives following that loss was that the Commanders derailed the Bears’ 2024 season. Chicago went on to lose 10-straight games and never recovered.
With Gordon finally healthy, the defense gains a versatile chess piece who can line up all over the defense. However, the veteran defensive back did say it was annoying not to be able to contribute to the team on the field, and he felt left out when he saw his teammates create four takeaways in the 25-24 win over the Raiders.
“Excited for everybody, but I definitely want to make a couple more [takeaways] myself,” Gordon said. “But trying to keep that going, and that’s what I’m looking forward to.”
Gordon and the rest of the defense will get an opportunity to continue producing takeaways against a Commanders team that has committed only three through the first five games, tied for the third fewest in the NFL.
Quarterback Jayden Daniels threw for 231 yards and a touchdown and added 39 yards on the ground in the 27-10 win over the Chargers, which was his first game back after missing two weeks with a knee sprain.

“He’s just dynamic, you know,” Gordon said. “He can throw a pass, and anyone who can be able to run, definitely going to be able to change the game, get those easy scrambles and stuff like that. So, just got to keep your eye and stuff and be aware.”
