Kyler Gordon is publicly begging the Bears to make the right coaching hire

He is quite literally spelling it out for you, Mr. Poles.

Finding anything new to write about the Chicago Bears, recently, is difficult. It's difficutl because this team is, well, in purgatory.

It has been for a while, too. So long as the McCaskey family owns the organization, it doesn't seem as though anything will ever change.

And if it does, under the McCaskeys' watch, then count that as a living, breathing miracle.

The Bears have been a laughing stock for quite some time. Even when they've given fans hope, it eventually fades into dust. Consistency and winning are not words that have been paired with this franchise for decades, now.

The 2024 season was no different, and players know it. With just one game to go in the regular season, Bears players and coaches met the media on Monday and the vibes were very similar among many of them.

Whether it was Cole Kmet stating the painfully obvious about this season as a whole or someone like cornerback Kyler Gordon commenting on the head coaching vacancy, the tone remained the same.

This team needs drastic change.

More Bears news:

Speaking of Gordon, when asked about what the Bears need from their next head coach, he got straight to the point.

"Come in here and enforce discipline," he said.

That's pretty telling, and it's not a surprise to those who have been paying attention.

Kyler Gordon seems like he'd be a fan of the Bears hiring Mike Vrabel to be the next head coach

As of Monday afternoon, the Bears could officially start the interview process with one particular head coaching candidate, and Gordon would likely be a fan. Mike Vrabel's agreement with the Cleveland Browns ran out, and he officially hit the open market.

Expect the Bears to interview him in the near future, and do not be surprised if he's hired.

We're talking about a team whose captains held a meeting with their offensive coordinator early in the season essentially pleading him to coach them harder.

This offensive coordinator was, of course, fired a few weeks later. Shane Waldron was never going to last. Yet, Ryan Poles still hired him anyway.

Matt Eberflus was supposed to be a defensive guy with a military background, yet he couldn't hold players accountable either. This soft mentality has yet to be squashed within Halas Hall, but Vrabel would certainly be one to make it happen.

Of course, Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson is still a top candidate for the Bears as well. We'll have to see which way the organization decides to go in the coming weeks, as this topic is only going to heat up.
