Montez Sweat has NSFW response in rant about Chicago Bears' 2024 struggles
When the Chicago Bears traded for Montez Sweat at the NFL Trade Deadline last season, Sweat was escaping the disaster that was the Washington Commanders' organization for a Bears' team that had an upward arrow given their play during the second-half of the season.
Sweat wasted no time in signing a lucrative four-year contract extension after being acquired by the Bears but the disaster that was the Commanders prior to the arrival of head coach Dan Quinn and rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels seems to have followed the veteran pass-rusher to the Bears.
Sweat is playing for a head coach has become a punchline for the national talk shows all while the Bears, within a blink of an eye, have gone from 4-2 on the season to 4-6.
In the middle of his own struggles, Sweat sounded off about the Bears' current struggles on the season.
“I mean, we’re on, what, a three- or four-game losing streak?" Sweat said Thursday. "I’m pretty (f—ing) frustrated.”
The Bears are in the middle of a four-game losing streak with a game upcoming against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday at Soldier Field. Given how the rest of the Bears' schedule looks, Sunday's game could be their last opportunity at a win for quite some time.
In the immediate aftermath of their game against the Vikings on Sunday, the Bears go on the road to face the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving followed by another road game against the San Francisco 49ers on December 8.
Just imagine the feelings that Sweat may have three weeks from now.
Sweat's remarks could be seen as another sign of how closer the Bears' locker room is to splintering. If they haven't already, conseuctive losses to the Vikings and Lions may be the true signaling of the end for Eberflus. Given the increased frustration from the players, that could be a fate they are waiting for.
