The biggest topic in the NFL after Week 2 of the preseason was the excellent play from Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams in his first appearance in head coach Ben Johnson's offense against the Buffalo Bills.

Williams played in the first two drives of the game as he finished with six completions out of 10 attempts for 107 yards and a 36-yard touchdown pass to Olamide Zaccheaus. He looked good and comfortable in the offense, which became the talking point among sports media members.

During ESPN's Get Up, NFL analyst Dan Orlovsky praised Williams after being asked to speak about his performance. Orlovsky used the two words that every Bears fans would agree to describe Williams' play.

"Dream start."

"In all the things that you wanted to see from Caleb Williams, you saw it. All offseason, we've talked about 'timing and rhythm, can you get the ball out where it's supposed to be at the right time,' and that's exactly what we saw from Caleb Williams."

Williams earned all the praise from everyone after first preseason game

What made Williams' performance so good was that he was decisive with throwing the football and knew exactly where to put the ball. Even the incompletions he had were on the mark where only the receiver can catch it.

The biggest criticism of Williams in his rookie year was that he was holding on to the ball too long, which led to 10 fumbles and a league-high 68 sacks. He tried to play backyard football too much and didn't lead to many good plays.

It was a much different feel in the Bills game. Williams seemed confident out there. Was it perfect? No, but it was just two drives and he showed enough to give everyone in Chicago all the confidence they need in him.
