The Chicago Bears' offense appears to be a group that is ready for the big time in the 2026 season.
Training camp is here, and there are several weapons to watch on this team. Bears quarterback Caleb Williams leads the group, but his receivers and backs around him are ultra-talented.
Williams appeared on the "Up & Adams" show when they had a chance to talk about a guy who has gotten a ton of hype around him in the offseason. Bears wide receiver Luther Burden III got high praise from his franchise quarterback.
“He makes the first guy miss every time. That’s his trait. He catches everything, the easy and hard passes. He’s a friendly receiver," Williams said. "His route running and things like that. When you get the ball in his hands, he makes that first player miss quite often.”

Everyone has been getting on the Burden hype train all offseason. Even his head coach, Ben Johnson, couldn't help but buy into all the buzz around his second-year receiver during OTAs.
Burden finished the 2025 season with 652 yards and two touchdowns in his rookie year. Those numbers won't exactly wow people, but he showed enough good traits to suggest he has the potential to be a stud in the league.
The problem early last year was that Johnson called a lot of screen passes for Burden, so it resulted in a lot of negative plays. When Rome Odunze got hurt, though, Burden was sent down the field, and that changed things for him.
DJ Moore has been traded away, leaving a hole in the wide receiver room. Odunze and Burden are now seen as the top two receivers, which is just fine for Bears fans. Many believe the two are ready to take on that role.
Chicago's passing attack might be one of the youngest in the NFL, but it is truly filled with weapons. Putting Burden, Odunze, and tight end Colston Loveland together is a recipe for success for the Bears.

Burden has all the abilities to be a great WR2 and be a deep threat in an offense that needs it. Give Burden time to grow as a player, and there is a strong chance he ends up being great. He might end up being a number one receiver down the road.
