Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams has certainly caught the attention of the NFL, as he is slowly moving up the rankings as one of the top signal-callers in the league.
Williams is only entering his third season in the NFL, and the buzz that is around him is unlike any quarterback that has ever rolled into Chicago. Bears quarterbacks coach J.T. Barrett told the media that his young quarterback still has a lot to learn, but to watch out for the future with him, because the real Williams has yet to come.
“I think he’s just realizing where he has so much potential and he could do so much with that," Barrett said via GN Sports TV. "We’re just scratching the surface with some stuff.”

Everyone always brings up the accuracy being a concern, and there is some validity to that, but everything else about Williams is something quarterbacks can't be taught. Week after week, especially late last season, Williams was making some insane throws that most passers are unable to make on the run.
Expectations are going through the roof with Williams after passing for a franchise record 3,942 yards and scoring 31 touchdowns with just seven interceptions in 2025. People have to remember that, even though natural arm talent is there with him, Williams still has some things to learn that can really elevate him from a great quarterback to the best.
Williams shows many of the same traits that have made Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes one of the greatest quarterbacks ever to play the game. Their ability to run out of the pocket and have the arm strength to make any throw can't be coached; that's just a god-given talent that would make most quarterbacks envious.

2025 was a good indicator of what things could be, but 2026 is the encore Bears fans are eagerly awaiting to see as Williams is ready to really explode onto the scene.
