The newest Madden 27 cover athlete has a lot of high expectations for him going into the Chicago Bears' 2026 season.

Bears quarterback Caleb Williams proved last year that even though he's got some accuracy issues he needs to work on, he can make all the throws and has the potential to be the best in the NFL. The momentum has been growing over the last two years for Williams as he continues to get better and better, with superstar status knocking on the doorsteps in 2026.

Everyone is looking at Williams to put up big numbers in Year 3 and show that he is ready for the spotlight. One bold prediction about him could really elevate this game to new heights that no Bears fan has ever seen in franchise history.

Bold prediction has Caleb Williams topping the NFL in one stat

FanSided NFL insider Jason La Canfora shared a list of 2026 bold predictions he has for the upcoming season. Canfora seems to have high expectations for Williams, predicting he will lead the NFL in passing yards.

"Ben Johnson is cold-blooded as a play caller. He threw on first down as often as anyone in the NFL last season, and that was with Caleb Williams learning a new system, shaking off a rough rookie year and unlearning some bad habits from previous coaching staffs. He also had to earn Johnson's trust. Mission accomplished.

Yes, the cold weather could be an issue. And Johnson likes to get multiple backs involved running the ball. But this kid has unreal athleticism, and Johnson was all about chucking the ball all over the place when he was in Detroit. Chicago’s defense will still find itself in some shootouts, but this kid has a cannon, and they will complete on-script and off-script deep shots. I believe his completion percentage will rise in 2026, too."

Williams last year broke the franchise record for passing yards in a season with 3,942. He's got a lot of work to do if he wants to lead the NFL in that stat, which would most likely require him to throw for about 5,000 yards.

The weapons are there for the Bears' offense to get there, as Williams has some speed in the wide receiver room. Between Luther Burden III, Kalif Raymond, and rookie Zavion Thomas, there is no defender who is keeping pace with them. Rome Odunze is set to take the WR1 role for the first time after two years of growing into the role.

Don't forget about the tight ends, as Colston Loveland led the Bears in receiving last year in his rookie season. Bears fans expect Loveland to have an even better season, as he has gained Williams's trust.
