The dream for every Chicago Bears fan during the offseason would be for the team to make a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders to acquire defensive end Maxx Crosby after initial reports show they are keeping tabs on a trade for him.
While the price point might be high with two first-round picks to get Crosby, that's one Bears fans are willing to make any day. NFL insider Tom Pelissero seems to be high on Crosby to the Bears as well when he spoke about the situation on the Rich Eisen Show.
"If I'm thinking who are the teams that make sense for Maxx Crosby," Pelissero said," a few that would come to mind would be the Chicago Bears, a team that people will remember swung another trade with the Raiders for a high-profile pass rusher in Khalil Mack some years ago. They feel like they're close, they were right there at the end in the playoffs. Could Maxx Crosby be somebody who puts them over the top and elevates that pass rush. I think that would be a fit."
Bears would be an ideal fit for Maxx Crosby
Crosby is easily one of the top five pass rushers in the NFL, as he has been a great leader for the Raiders franchise and the focal point of that defense for years. In seven years, he has racked up 69.5 sacks and has made it to the Pro Bowl five years in a row.
It's no secret that the Bears' pass rush is a mess after just 35 sacks last year. Outside of Montez Sweat's 10 sacks in 2025, Chicago did not get much production from the defensive end role.
Dayo Odeyingbo is getting $48 million over three years with the Bears, and in his first season with the team, he recorded only one sack in eight games before an Achilles injury ended his 2025 campaign. Austin Booker missed the first half of the season with an injury, but he at least showed some promise with 4.5 sacks to close the year out.
There is no bigger priority this offseason for the Bears than getting an elite edge rusher to help Sweat out. Chicago is one or two pieces away from being Super Bowl contenders, so expect Bears general manager Ryan Poles to be aggressive on moves this offseason.

The one move that must be made by the Poles is to convince the Raiders to part ways with Crosby and get him in a Bears uniform in 2026.
