Over the course of the last two seasons, jokes were made at the expense of the Chicago Bears over the fact that each of their games against each other was a primetime contest on Thursday Night Football.
If the 2024 season is proof of one thing, it's that life comes at you fast when you have a good starting quarterback.
The Bears are on their Bye Week but will play the Washington Commanders in Week 8. It's a matchup between the first two quarterbacks taken at the top of the 2024 NFL Draft. Caleb Williams, of course, was the first-overall selection while the Commanders selected Jayden Daniels with the following pick.
Given the hot start that Daniels had to the season, many were critical of the Bears' approach with Williams From November on last year, the Bears were locked onto Williams being the next starting quarterback of the organization. The tunnel vision that the Bears had on Williams led some to believe the team overlooked Daniels.
Fast forward to the present time, and Williams has quickly answered the question of being the right quarterback for the Bears.
Given the impressive play of Daniels and Wiliams, many were calling for the Week 8 game between the two to be flexed into larger time slot. The NFL and CBS answered that call on Tuesday.
Caleb Williams is quickly becoming the face of the NFL.
Not only is the game between the Bears and Commanders now in CBS' game of the week slot but it will also be called by their No. 1 broadcast team, Jim Nantz and Tony Romo. This is an impressive distinction considering CBS is also carrying the rivalry game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Las Vegas Raiders. Move over, Patrick Mahomes; Williams is now the quarterback that the NFL world wants to watch.
