Chicago Bears fans would like to forget the 2024 season, as the excitement for 2025 is being met with pessimism. There's still plenty to look forward to as it could either be a great season or a rough one for the Bears.

Bleacher Report writer Brad Gagnon went through 10 teams with their boom or bust potential. Gagnon left the Bears for last in the article, as it all falls on the shoulders of head coach Ben Johnson and quarterback Caleb Williams.

Boom: Sophomore No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams takes a big step forward under new head coach Ben Johnson while the defense keeps climbing to elite status. The Bears shock the Lions, Vikings and Packers in the NFC North and go on a playoff run.

Bust: Williams slumps in Year 2 while trying to adjust to a new offense and a retooled offensive line, and a challenging division overwhelms the rebuilding team as it loses double-digit games.

Prediction: The Bears are not ready to slay the rest of the division, but the trajectory is awesome and I believe in Johnson. They will improve on a 5-12 campaign last year with at least seven or eight wins in 2025.

Can Bears fans expect more boom or more bust for 2025?

The expectations for the Bears this season are much lower than they were last year, which isn't the worst thing in the world. Last year, the team finished with a 5-12 season and faced issues with the offensive line, a rookie quarterback, three different play callers on offense, and two head coaches.

Improvement is also expected in 2025 with Johnson bringing his exciting, creative offensive style to Chicago. The team has built up an improved offensive and defensive lines while adding young talent on offense in the NFL Draft.

A prediction of winning seven or eight games in 2025 from Gagnon is pretty accurate for what Bears fans should expect from the floor. The ceiling should be nine or 10 wins and a playoff spot or even an NFC North division title.
