No surprises, here.

This week, it's been fun to continue celebrating the Chicago Bears' wild win over the Cincinnati Bengals this past Sunday while we also look forward. One thing that's somewhat stalled the celebrating, though, is the conversations which have been had regarding wide receiver Rome Odunze.

More on that later, but during the media time this week, Odunze's teammate Olamide Zaccheaus commented on the second-year pro's work ethic and character. Zaccheaus had nothing but positives, to no one's surprise.

"He’s a selfless guy. He can do all the dirty work and make plays in the passing game too. He’s a great guy to be around in this locker room. ... It’s just who he is. Not even just on the field, off the field as well, a selfless person," Zaccheaus said.

Rome Odunze is exactly who Bears fans have thought he was all along

Zaccheaus' comments come at the right time after the week Odunze has had.

I suppose, we can thank Odunze's father for starting these negative conversations. That's nothing against Rome's father, but it is what it is. Odunze's dad made it known he believes his son should be traded to a team that throws him the ball more, to which Odunze responded candidly.

This, of course, came after a game where Odunze drew three targets but caught zero.

And still, the Bears won. That's what matters to the fans, and from the sound of it, that's what matters to Odunze as well.

Sure, you want your top wide receiver to possess that alpha mentality and desire the ball -- and I'm certain Odunze does. But in the end, it's about winning football games, and Odunze demonstrates just that.

He's had a good example from teammates like Zacchaeus and DJ Moore, as well. Moore, specifically, has not always been part of the game plan this year. Moore is one of those scrappy wideouts, too, who excels in blocking when he's tasked with it.

Between Odunze, Moore, Zaccheaus, and even Luther Burden III, it's no surprise that someone gets left out each week. It was always going to be like this, as there are so many mouths to feed. So long as Williams continues playing well and doing what Johnson asks of him, the tone should remain the same.

These Bears are winning football games, and players are doing what's asked of them -- Odunze included.

We have heard all of the right things from the former first-round pick, but we've also seen it on the field. He's the epitome of what you want in a teammate, and Bears fans can rest in the fact that he's in Chicago.
