PFF has revealed who Bears' top 2025 pass rusher is (and it's not Montez Sweat)

Some might believe that when discussing who the top pass rusher is on the Chicago Bears, it would be defensive end Montez Sweat. You know, the man who is currently getting paid $98 million for four years. That's not the case.

That doesn't mean Sweat is having a bad season, however. Pro Football Focus shared some data on how Sweat and the rest of the NFL pass rushers are doing in 2025, and he's ranked 24th in PFF pass-rush grade with 79.8. His pass-rush win percentage is at 15.4% with nine pressures on the year.

These aren't bad numbers, but fans were hoping for something better when it came down to Sweat. One other Bears player has a slight edge on Sweat when it comes to getting to the quarterback.

PFF used the data to prove who the Bears' top pass rusher is in 2025

If Bears fans had Gervon Dexter Sr. on their bingo card, they might be mind readers. Dexter is currently ranked 16th in the NFL among defenders in PFF pass-rushing grade with 84.5. He has a pass-rush win percentage of 15.3% with nine pressures.

PFF further highlighted Dexter as he was named the top pass rusher from Week 3 after his stellar performance in the Bears' 31-14 win over the Dallas Cowboys.

"Dexter led the league with a 93.0 PFF pass-rush grade against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 3. He set career highs in PFF pass-rush grade, pressures (six) and win rate (33.3%) as the Bears picked up their first win of the season."

Sweat and Dexter are tied for the team lead in quarterback hits (three) and sacks (one) on the season. Both have more than proven to be the best pass rushers, but Sweat is a bit more disappointing.

Dexter is off to a good start to the season and has found some rhythm. With Austin Booker out with an injury, the Bears are pleased to have Dexter step up in a big way with the pass rush.
