It's been no secret that the Chicago Bears will be selecting Caleb Williams as the first overall selection in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Even if Ryan Poles was not ready to officially confirm the selection while speaking with reporters on Tuesday, there is no doubt that Williams will get his name called at No. 1. It would also seem that the Bears' approach to this year's draft is surrounding Williams with as much talent as possible.

A popular player mocked to the Bears with the ninth overall selection has been Washington wide receiver Rome Odunze. Williams is friends with Odunze and that was confirmed once again on Tuesday.

The scenario of pairing a superstar rookie quarterback in Williams with a superstar rookie wide receiver in Odunze is one that many Bears fans want to become a reality on Thursday night.

Looking beyond the fact that Williams and Odunze shared the same flight to Detroit on Tuesday, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported that the two have been practicing together recently. What was even more intriguing by Pelissero's report is that the two were joined by current Bears' wide receivers DJ Moore and Keenan Allen.

Chicago Bears fans are dreaming of a Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze pairing.

There certainly is a ton of smoke surrounding the Bears and Odunze. What's been interesting is how direct the reporting was on Tuesday in terms of Odunze not only practicing with Williams but current Bears players.

Of course, that does not mean that Odunze is absolutely going to be the selection of the Bears at No. 9. After all, Odunze will have to remain on the board through the next seven selections after the Bears take Williams. Though, given the run on quarterbacks that is expected at the top of the draft, there remains a strong chance Odunze will indeed be available.
