2. Gervon Dexter Sr. is emerging into a stud defensive tackle that the Bears need

In last year's draft, the Bears bypassed Jalen Carter from Georgia by trading down with the Philadelphia Eagles, who took him 9th overall, and the Bears took Tennessee tackle Darnell Wright one spot below. Still needing a three-technique defensive tackle, the Bears took Gervon Dexter from the University of Florida in the second round.

Last year, even as a rookie, Dexter flashed potential even though he still needed a lot of work. He drew rave reviews from his teammates and coaches this off-season and so far, it has carried over into regular season. He has already recorded a sack in 3 of the first 4 games. If he can stay healthy and remain productive, double digit sack total is not out of the question.

Despite his enormous talent, Carter was seen as a massive character risk and the Bears passed on him. So far, Jalen Carter has 0 sacks through 4 games. While it might be too early to draw conclusion, you can bet that Ryan Poles and Matt Eberflus is happy with selecting Dexter over Carter so far this season.
