The Chicago Bears have not looked good to start the season. While the Los Angeles Rams are coming in off a win, and they looked good in the late stretches of that game, the Bears are still favored to beat them.

Here is why the Bears are likely to go 2-2, and most fans will be a lot more relaxed at this time next week.

5. The Chicago Bears secondary can shut down Matthew Stafford

Matthew Stafford is one of the better starting quarterbacks in the NFL. His ability to win the game against the San Francisco 49ers with TuTu Atwell, Jordan Whittington, and Demarcus Robinson was impressive. Still, if those are the receivers against this secondary, things are going to be tough for Stafford.

Jaylon Johnson and Tyrqiue Stevenson are physical presences on the outside and they can force things away from these targets. Whittington will spend some time in the slot, and he does have a size advantage on Kyler Gordon, but this is a sixth-round rookie. He had 50 yards on the season.

The Bears shut down Will Levis and Anthony Richardson through the air, which should be expected, but they also handled business against C.J. Stroud.

The Texans scored 19 at home against this defense. The Rams may struggle to score 20 on the road.
