Bears offensive line isn't the only thing to blame for Caleb Williams' struggles

Well, I guess that's good to know.

The Caleb Williams era hasn't gotten off to the incredible start that Chicago Bears fans were hoping for. The first overall pick has yet to throw for a touchdown but has thrown two picks in his first two games.

The offensive line looked absolutely atrocious in the Bears' Week 2 loss to the Texans, allowing the rookie signal-caller to get sacked seven times. While the offensive line didn't do a good job of protecting the first overall pick, former Bears backup quarterback Chase Daniel argued that Williams' poor performance so far isn't just on the o-line.

Daniel noted while watching film that no one was open for Williams to throw to. "There is absolutely no one open in this Caleb Williams" Daniel wrote and then noting how aware people are of the o-line's issues. Daniel continued "[Williams] got impatient and it led to 2 INT's... but for real nothing is open."

Chase Daniel puts Bears wide receivers on blast for not getting open

The Bears were without Keenan Allen against the Texans but D.J. Moore and Rome Odunze were both active for the game. Moore had a decent game, catching six passes for 53 yards while Odunze had two grabs for 33 yards.

The Bears put an emphasis on adding pass-catchers so that Williams would have weapons to throw to and so far, it hasn't proved to make a difference. The offensive line has to be better, this much is true, but the wide receivers need to do a better job of getting open so that Williams isn't in a position to be sacked.

It's been a disappointing start to Caleb Williams' career but we're only two games into this thing. The former first overall pick ended his Week 2 outing with 174 yards through the air and those two picks, which came as a result of no one being open.

Let's hope this offense figures things out and puts it together soon.
