The Chicago Bears' interior defensive line has flipped over just about everyone in the room. Justin Jones led the group in snaps last year and is the only one who returns as Armon Watts, Angelo Blackson, and Mike Pennel have all gone elsewhere.

So, with a lot of change, what are some bold predictions for what this group can do?

3. Bravvion Roy has a better chance to make the Chicago Bears roster than Travis Bell

The Chicago Bears just claimed Bravvion Roy on waivers after the Carolina Panthers released him. The fact that they claimed him can speak to one of two things. Either the Bears liked his talent from before and wanted to see him get a chance, or the fact that he was on such a cheap, cost-controlled contract made them think that there was no downside and he was worth the chance.

Roy had some love as a run-stuffing nose tackle coming out of Baylor, but it had not come to fruition. When looking at the Bears defensive line, only Andrew Billings is fit to play the nose tackle role. Roy can easily slot into the backup spot, with Justin Jones, Gervon Dexter, and Zacch Pickens sliding around the rest of the line.

This would leave Travis Bell as the sixth interior lineman and the clear odd-man out. This really is not a surprise when you consider Bell is a seventh-round pick from Kennesaw State. Yes, Bell could be a diamond in the rough, but in most scenarios, it would be in year two after he acclimates to the NFL for a season. A year on the practice squad would do him well. With how raw he is and with Ryan Poles being so invested, it would seem smart for Bell to stick in Chicago, so losing him may not be that big of an issue. Keep an eye on Roy being the fifth option on the line.
