Expectations are high for Caleb Williams' rookie season in the NFL with the Chicago Bears as Williams is entering a situation that many consider to be the best that a rookie quarterback has ever had.
Unlike their past developmental experiences with Mitch Trubisky and Justin Fields, the Bears seem to be putting Williams in a position to succeed right away. The Bears have surrounded Williams with talent at each skill position while also giving him a potential long-term pairing with rookie wide receiver Rome Odunze.
It's easy to forget that Williams is still a rookie quarterback and expecting results like what CJ Stroud had last season with the Houston Texas are unrealistic based on the expected output of rookie quarterbacks.
Caleb Williams continues to be talked about in rare air.
The issue, or good news, is that many still continue to put Williams in a rare conversation in terms of his rookie projections. The latest is from Chad Reuter of NFL dot com as he projects Williams to be the quarterback of the 2024 All-Rookie team.
"Justin Herbert was the 2020 All-Rookie Team quarterback, aided by a strong trio of pass catchers in Keenan Allen, Mike Williams and Hunter Henry. Caleb Williams is walking into a similar situation. Allen is now in Chicago, where he joins the dynamic DJ Moore and No. 9 overall pick Rome Odunze. Cole Kmet and Herbert's former teammate, Gerald Everett, will make some plays at tight end, as well, giving the top selection of the 2024 draft a great chance to be among the league's most prolific passers as a rookie."NFL dot com
During his rookie season, Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert tossed for 4,336 yards with 31 touchdowns against only 10 interceptions. If Williams replicates that production during his rookie season with the Bears, it would go down as the greatest passing season in the history of the franchise.
