Chicago Bears 2023 NFL Draft: Post NFL Combine DE/DT rankings
Chicago Bears Prospect No. 9: Adetomiwa Adebawore - DT | Northwestern
The first significant change during combine week was moving Will Mcdonal off my Chicago Bears top 10 defensive line list. Mind you; he is still in my top 10 for edge rushers. Adetomiwa Adebawore is too athletic not to make my list (sorry not sorry). You shouldn't be that big (282 pounds), Explosive (4.49, 37" vert), or strong (27 reps of 225) and not be considered a top guy.
I have to put some blame on Northwestern for this one. He still outproduced Jalen Carter season-to-season. Adebawore was fine as a pass rusher. It is the run defense that he badly needs to fix. That could be something the Chicago Bears coaching staff can fix. If you want my top choice for 3T for the Bears, he is, sitting as my ninth-best defensive lineman.
Chicago Bears Prospect No. 10: Myles Murphy - DE | Clemson
One would think Will Mcdonald would be here on my list, but he missed it by the smallest margin. Something to note when teams have two talented defensive line prospects coming out in the same draft is that, typically, only one becomes "the guy." I think that guy is something other than Bryan Bresee. Mostly because he hardly played. Bresee showed excellent athleticism at the combine; however, Myles Murphy would have done even better.
I could easily swap Murphy and Foskey as the sixth-best on my list. Murphy is a baller, and I don't believe he is slow. He could run a 4.5 40-yard dash well when he is healthy. My only concern is who was the reason that the defensive line was so dominant. If it was hands down Murphy, he's my number six, maybe even five, but there is no accurate way to tell. Numer 10 still is alright.
The Chicago Bears are in luck, as they can trade deep and still get one of six to eight top players in this draft class. The defensive line, defensive backs, and offensive linemen are stacked. We have to wait and see what Ryan Poles does with his options.
