Chicago Bears are looking to end this horrific trend
The Chicago Bears are one of the most historic franchises in the NFL. To this day they still have the most players inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame. If it wasn't for George "Papa Bear" Halas, who knows if the NFL would even exist today? Unfortunately, the team has not seen the same historic success over the last few decades as it did at the beginning of its existence. Now, Ryan Poles and Matt Eberflus are looking to turn things around before the team finds itself in the history books for the wrong reasons.
According to Warren Sharp, the Chicago Bears have finished fourth in the NFC North the most times since 2010. To make matters worse, during these 14 years, the Green Bay Packers have never finished dead last. What a slap in the face that must be.
The Chicago Bears are actually worse than the Lions
As you can see, Chicago has finished last six times in the last 14 years. That's worse than even the Detroit Lions. The Lions have come in last place five times, while the Vikings have finished last only three times. Only four teams in the NFL have a worse track record than the Bears over the last 14 years, while two others are tied with them. That means 25 teams have been more successful than Chicago.
The arrow is pointing up though as Poles and Eberflus look to Caleb Williams to become the saving grace for this franchise going forward. Things feel different with Poles at the helm but it will all come down to if Williams can become a great quarterback -- something this franchise hasn't seen since before the Super Bowl era. If Williams can become the quarterback I project him to be, then this might be the shift fans have been dreaming of for the last 30+ years.
Can the combination of Poles, Eberflus and Williams be the driving force that finally turns things around and puts an end to this horrific trend? Let us know how you feel over on our Facebook page!
