The Chicago Bears made sure to add plenty of names to their secondary this offseason, especially through the draft. The influx of young talent has made the back end a bit of a tighter competition than in recent years.

The young players such as Kyler Gordon, Tyrique Stevenson, and Terell Smith are going to get a lot of work in the preseason. However, there are a lot of depth names who are going to be competing to get on the field after them and earn a roster spot. Who are those players?

4. Is Kindle Vildor about to be cut by the Chicago Bears?

Kindle Vildor took a huge faller this offseason. Last year, he was a starting cornerback in nickel looks. The team slid Kyler Gordon inside, and Vildor got onto the field. However, now that the team has added both Stevenson and Smith, Vildor has been knocked down a peg. We knew those two, Gordon and Jaylon Johnson, would all be ahead of him. Josh Blackwell may push him to CB5 as well.

What is fascinating is that his depth chart standing is even lower than expected. It was almost like the team was signaling for other teams to come and get Vildor because he would be available. So, Vildor will be fighting for a roster spot this summer.

However, it may be for a new teams roster as much as his own. Even if he plays well, that may be what the Chicago Bears want because it helps net them a draft pick via an August trade. The days of Vildor being on the Bears appear to be close to over.
