The XFL is about to enter the second weekend of its current season. Week 2 officially kicked off yesterday. With Week 1 in the books, a few players have stood out that teams, including the Chicago Bears, need to keep an eye on this offseason. The XFL season goes until May, and NFL teams will likely look to bring players from the league in for tryouts before the 2023 NFL season starts. Could the Chicago Bears find any diamonds in the rough? P.J. Walker might be the biggest standout from the XFL currently in the NFL. His contract is up in Carolina but he's a restricted free agent.

When we look at the needs of the Chicago Bears, the defensive line, offensive line, and wide receiver stand out the most. Justin Fields needs some help. However, when it comes to players from the XFL, it's more about depth than looking for starters. P.J. Walker has made the most significant impact in the NFL as a former XFL player and has never been more than a backup. The point I'm making here is that you shouldn't expect to find any stars.

Chicago Bears should look at all options, including the XFL, this offseason

Josh Gordon, WR - Seattle Sea Dragons

I cannot talk about players in the XFL without bringing up Josh Gordon. Gordon was an elite WR in the NFL before being suspended for marijuana use. I'm not going to speak to the disciplinary policies by the NFL other than they are not consistent. Gordon is nearly 32 years old though and not going to be a game-changer. In his first XFL game this season, Gordon finished with six catches for 74 yards and a touchdown. Yesterday, he only had one catch on two targets, but it went for 33 yards. With the Bears' group of receivers, there isn't any reason not to give Gordon an opportunity with this team.
