The Chicago Bears are clearly a winner in the Aaron Rodgers trade

To declare a winner of the Packers and Jets trade, it will come down to how much Aaron Rodgers plays this season and into the future. If Rodgers decides to retire at the end of 2023 or even in 2024, that is not much of a return for the Jets unless they make a serious push for the Super Bowl. I don't see that happening in an AFC that is filled with a vast amount of quarterback talent. On paper, it appears the Jets won this trade though if they receive the 4-time MVP player and not who we saw in 2022.

The Packers can expect a 2024 first since Rodgers has not seen less than 65% of the snaps since 2017 when he only played seven games. The only way he doesn't is if the Jets start out horribly and they bench him to keep their first-round pick next year.

Jordan Love is a winner in this trade since he now will get to start for Green Bay. I cannot imagine they draft a quarterback at 13 who will take over immediately this year. That said, Love starting is also a win for the Chicago Bears and the NFC North. Love has not looked good in his limited time in the NFL and I was never high on him to begin with. I don't think he becomes the next Brett Favre or Aaron Rodgers.

The Jets' wide receiver corps. will be winners of this trade, while Zach Wilson becomes a loser in the deal. Wilson will now be on the bench unless another team looks to trade for the apparent bust. Garrett Wilson, Mecole Hardman, and Corey Davis will come out as winners though now that Aaron Rodgers is throwing them the ball. I'd say that the city of New York is a loser though too because they now have to deal with the drama created by the diva quarterback.

Does that mean Green Bay is a winner too? Not really, I will never call that franchise a winner of anything. They wasted 34 Hall of Fame quarterback seasons to only win two Super Bowls. Yikes!
