With Rome Odunze signing his rookie deal Tuesday afternoon prior to the beginning of Training Camp, the Chicago Bears followed it up hours later with Caleb Williams signing on the dotted line, officially signing both first-round picks to the team.

Caleb Williams signs four-year, $39 million contract with Chicago Bears

While some rookies signed their contracts earlier in the offseason, it shouldn't have been a worry to Bears fans on whether this deal would get done. The Bears drafted him No. 1 overall, and Williams was audibly over the moon to be drafted to Chicago. The process took longer than some players, but this move wasn't in doubt.

Before signing his contract, Williams was upfront about how the situation was being handled, noting that his team was working in the background to ensure a deal was done.

In a segment on ESPN, Dan Graziano had a source near the situation that didn't believe there was any reason for Bears fans to be worried. Considering Williams' lack of an agent, finalizing deals with him will be a bit more lengthy process. He has a team working for him rather than an agent, making the longer negotiation process to be expected.

Williams' rookie contract consists of a four-year deal worth $39.49 million, fully guaranteed with a $25.5 million signing bonus.

Ryan Poles was excited to get Williams and Odunze in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, and now, they're both officially signed to the team until 2027 with a team option for 2028.

While expectations from fans are high following the subpar performance of the Chicago Bears last season, this offseason has pointed in the direction of being the turning point in the franchise. Now that both first-round rookies have signed on the dotted line, the Chicago Bears NFL takeover continues.
