The Chicago Bears' potential No. 1 pick officially declared for the NFL Draft

There's still a lot to be sorted out with the Chicago Bears and what they want to do with their No. 1 overall pick, acquired from the Carolina Panthers.

Do the Bears keep Justin Fields and build around him, or is going the quarterback route more likely? An ESPN report gave a glimpse into the possibility that the Chicago Bears could take Caleb Williams.

There was one looming problem with the Bears wanting Caleb Williams, however. With the deadline to declare for the 2024 NFL Draft coming up, it wasn't a 100% certain possibility that Williams would declare for the draft.

With NIL money being what it is today, it wasn't out of the question for Williams to return to USC for another year, but all of that pondering can be put to an end now.

As of 2:33pm CST, Caleb Williams has declared for the 2024 NFL Draft.

Now, whether the Chicago Bears go with Williams with their No. 1 pick is up in the air, but there's no doubt that what Caleb Williams did in college is anything short of impressive.

There's still time to tell on who the QB1 is between Caleb Williams and Drake Maye. Both quarterbacks will likely succeed at the NFL level, but with the No. 1 pick, it'll probably be Caleb Williams.

Stats only play a part of the story, but the statsheet Williams put up in college is almost jaw-dropping.

Again, stats don't tell the entire story of a player. They aren't irrelevant, however. Caleb Williams is an intriuging prospect for a reason.

Sure, he's not an Andrew Luck-level prospect, but those don't come around every year.

Caleb Williams is a prospect who should have the attention of the Chicago Bears, and now that he officially declared for the 2024 NFL Draft, it's a real possibility.
