The 2023 NFL Draft is just around the corner, and as always, fans can hardly contain their excitement. Each year the draft provides a sense of hope and introduces fans to the future of their favorite franchise and even the league. 

Few teams have as much riding on the 2023 draft as the Chicago Bears. Given the team’s numerous needs, and rather underwhelming free agency period, Ryan Poles will have to lean heavily on his scouting ability to set the team up for the 2023 season. 

Thankfully, the Bears have a trove of picks thanks to their with the Carolina Panthers. Additionally, Poles has already shown he is willing to trade back for the right price, giving the Bears more opportunities to acquire further draft capital.

The Chicago Bears still have many questions that need to be answered

As much as fans love to speculate about how things might unfold on draft night the truth is we don’t really know. Every team’s draft board is slightly different, and one seemingly small change can cause a ripple effect on the rest of the draft.

This is especially the case for Chicago. While some teams drafting inside the top ten have been heavily linked to a certain player, a clear favorite for the Bears’ ninth overall pick has yet to emerge.

Much to the chagrin of the fanbase, we won’t have a conclusive answer on the Bears’ draft strategy until after the fact. Instead of looking at who the Bears may or may not take, it’s worthwhile to discuss what factors will play a deciding role in the matter.
