One final box remains for the Chicago Bears as they completed their evaluation of quarterback Caleb Williams ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft.
The belief entering the off-season was that the Bears were already in love with Williams, the quarterback, but needed to make sure that he was the right person to be the next leader of the team at the quarterback position while also confirming there were no medical concerns.
The Bears' brass spent three days with Williams in Southern California last week and it would seem that is where the team truly became comfortable with who Williams is as a person. Williams' Pro Day was a reminder of the type of talent and why the Bears will be selecting him with the first overall pick.
That confirmation will likely be had next week at Halas Hall.
While speaking at the NFL Owners Meetings in Florida on Monday, Ryan Poles revealed that Williams will complete his Top 30 visit with the Bears next week.
Caleb Williams will be meeting with the Chicago Bears during the first week of April.
Everything that the Bears have done this off-season has led to this point. Between the trade of Justin Fields, the trading for Keenen Allen, and the signing of D'Andre Swift and Gerald Everett, the Bears have created a soft landing spot for Williams as he makes the transition from USC to the NFL.
Despite the baseless narratives that some national pundits are attempting to spew, the Bears are ready to develop Williams in a way that they previously weren't.
The final checkmark for the Bears will be next week when they put Williams through a medical evaluation. Assuming there are no red flags, which likely would have been discovered by now, Williams is going to be the next quarterback of the Bears.
