4 Chicago Bears players in danger going into 2nd preseason game
Could Velus Jones Jr. be playing his way off the roster?
Is there reason to worry about a certain quarterback?

Velus Jones Jr. should be in danger of being cut
New year, same Velus Jones Jr.
Early on last year, Jones muffed two punts and the Bears took that job away from him. Now in his second year, it appears to be a problem once again. On Saturday against the Titans, Jones was given two opportunities to field punts. Both times, he allowed the ball to hit the ground first.
On the second attempt, he muffed the punt and Tennessee hopped on the ball, taking over possession.
Head coach Matt Eberflus had this to say after the game in regards to Jones' fumble:
"It comes down to fundamentals. t comes down to technique. We're gonna work on that and get him reading the flight of the ball and getting ourselves into position early. And then, getting underneath the football and squeezing down on the catch. We'll keep working on that."
Wide receiver appears to be a strength of this team, suddenly, and Jones should not be guaranteed a spot on this roster. If he is going to continue with these mental mistakes, the Bears need to admit failure on this draft pick and cut ties altogether.
