It’s only Week 10, and despite the Chicago Bears achieving back-to-back home victories for the first time since September 2022, most fans are calling for the head of Matt Eberflus.

In all honesty, a lot of fans have been calling for an end to Matt Eberflus’s tenure as Bears head coach since Week 1.

Zero wins from your first four games is bad enough, but it was the manner in which the team lost those games that led fans to question the coaching staff’s ability to not only motivate players but to put them in the best position to win each week.

Six weeks later, the Bears have only picked up three wins out of 10, taking Matt Eberflus’s record to 6 wins from a possible 21. Win rates at just over 20% cannot and should not be rewarded with more patience, especially for a fan base that has been asked to be patient for well over a decade.

Bears reporter and all-around good guy Adam Jahns published an article on The Athletic last week predicting that Eberflus might be retained this off-season. While there is no doubt that Jahns would be much better informed on such matters than I am - and despite anything that Ryan Poles has said publicly - I just don’t see how Eberflus survives the month of January.
